The UWA100 lens from Light & Motion is a professional lens that delivers an astounding 100* degree field of view with minimal distortion and 100% full zoom through. The dynamic range and angle of coverage of the lens is what separates it from the competition. In addition to the ultra wide angle capability, the full zoom range of the camcorder is actually improved. High resolution macro images can be recorded when the subject is only 6 inches from the port vertex in air and 28 inches from the port vertex in water.

Full Zoom Capability
Objects as close as 6.5 inches in air and 28 inches in water can be brought into clear focus while operating the camcorder at full aperture and full tele zoom.

Minimum Distortion
Distortion in the extreme corners of the image is limited to less than 4.5%. Thus perceptible distortion is nominal.

High Resolution
Meticulous assembly of precision optical grade components produces the highest quality lens. Every component of the optical lens design undergoes interferometric testing to ensure consistent optical performance.

Air/Water Use
Constant angular magnification in air and water is a feature of the UWA100 that allows for above water, below water and over/under image compositions.

Color Correction
Low dispersion optical grade glasses are used in an achromatized optical design to provide excellent color correction at all object distances and zoom ranges.

Optical Coatings
All optical surfaces are High Efficiency and Anti Reflection coated. The external surface is seawater resistant with a hard coat, which resists scratches and allows for aggressive cleaning to remove residue.

* Depending upon the distance of the subject from the port vertex of the lens, the angle of coverage ranges from 180 degrees to 92 degrees. For example, if the lens were to actually contact the subject (0mm away) the angle of coverage is 180 degrees. At infinity, the angle of coverage is 92 degrees. For accurate comparison of lenses, angular field of view should be referenced at the entrance pupil (see below chart)
