VX-G1 Video Housing

The VX-G1 series of video housings uses an effective new design concept: simplify operation. These housings provide essential video operation underwater, and expand aquatic videography to users outside the diving world.

* As of January 20, 2005, Sea & Sea is planning to start sales (receive orders) of the following VX-G1 Series products for delivery at the end of April:
VX-G1/NV-GS150 (for Panasonic NV-GS150) and VX-G1/NV-GS250 (for Panasonic NV-GS250)

The release dates of the following VX-G1 products for the other video cameras will be announced later:
VX-G1/DCR-HC90 (for Sony DCR-HC90), VX-G1/DCR-DVD403 (for Sony DCR-DVD403), and VX-G1/DCR-DVD203 (Sony DCR-DVD203).
The release dates for these housings will be announced at a future date on Sea & Sea’s Web site.
* Details of the VX-G1 video housings for Canon and Victor products will also be available at a future date on Sea & Sea’s Web site.
* Please note that supported video camera models are subject to change without prior notice and is dependent on product development of these models.

Main Features:
  • First in the industry to use control circuits designed exclusively for each individual manufacturer.
Sea & Sea has developed control circuits for each video camera manufacturer. Users can stop and start recording and capture still photos regardless of manufacturer. The controls don’t require cables to the camera; they use infra-red connections instead.
  • Pick-up type optical viewfinder offers excellent visibility.
The VX-G1 series features an easy-to-view optical viewfinder for video shooters who want to see the full frame.
  • Leak sensor flashes an alarm if it senses water inside the housing.
If water leaks into the housing, the leak sensor lamp immediately blinks an alert.
  • High quality built-in underwater microphone.
The VX-G1 series provides as standard equipment a high-quality monaural underwater microphone to capture underwater sounds with true fidelity.
  • Pressure-release valve for safety.
Sea & Sea housing use safety devices that handle changes in pressure, a feature praised by professional divers around the world.
  • Industry-standard Nikonos connector to connect a VMC-75 external monitor to the housing.
  • Easy-to-use slide-and-set turning buckle.
Unlike conventional snap fasteners, the buckle allows users to set the housing flat on a table and then insert or remove the camera without water dropping from their faces into the housing.
  • Removable grip.
The grip can be separated from the main body for easy transport, especially convenient for international travel where luggage space is tight.
  • Professional 60-meter-deep (200 ft.) pressure-proof design.
The VX-G1 series is derived from the well-respected VX-PC series, and carries on its tradition of quality construction.

    <Note>
The SEA&SEA VX-G1 housing for the Panasonic NV-GS250 and NV-GS150 video cameras comes with two control dials and a button that provide one-touch navigation and joystick control on the camera. These additional controls expand your shooting capabilities. If you press the O.K. button, you can see all available basic operations in the optical viewfinder. You can perform a variety of operations quickly and easily.

While you are recording underwater, you can zoom in or out, set backlight compensation, fade in or out, and more. In manual mode, you can also control shutter speed, white balance, and iris (including gain). To see what you’ve recorded, you can rewind, play, and fast forward. Only the SEA&SEA VX-G1 housing offers all of this control underwater.
